In 1946, it was first played at River Oaks Country Club, and over the years, it moved to various locations. The Houston Open was played at Memorial Park from 1951 through 1963. Every year, some of golf's biggest stars compete head-to-head in the event. Jason Kokrak won the competition in 2021 by two strokes over Scottie Scheffler and Kevin Tway.
