For the first time in LPGA history, the initial competition featured an uncommon arrangement where participants were not awarded any monetary prize. In its place, half of the tournament's purse was distributed to charity while the remaining funds were divided among charities chosen by the top ten finishers. From 2012 forward, the competition was held in a more conventional style, and the players were granted monetary awards in the usual way.

Jin Young Ko secured her victory in the event consecutively in 2019 and 2021. However, due to the pandemic, the event was not conducted in 2020. In 2022, Minjee Lee of Australia managed to clinch the championship with a remarkable 2-stroke lead.
